At the time of your initial consultation, you will sit down with Dr. Avram to discuss your breast augmentation goals. Once all of your questions have been answered, Dr. Avram will assess your chest to choose the best implants based on your desired results and existing anatomy.

Implant Options

Silicone and saline-filled breast implants are available in a wide variety of different shapes, profiles, textures and sizes. The proper implants for your surgery will be determined by Dr. Avram based on your in-clinic assessment and desired results.

Your Incisions

The most common incision for breast augmentation is located in the crease under your breast. Typically, this incision is hidden when standing upright. Alternatively, incisions can be placed along the edge of your areola — the dark skin around your nipple, your armpit or your belly button.

Your implants can be placed above or below your chest muscle. Placement depends on the amount of breast tissue you currently have. Dr. Avram will determine which incision option and implant placement is best for your surgery based on your existing anatomy.

Anesthesia

An anesthetist will be present during your surgery to administer a general anesthetic. You will be very comfortable and asleep during surgery.

Recovery Time

Breast augmentation with implants can take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours to perform.

Dr. Avram suggests that you take at least 5 to 7 days off work for recovery.

Your chest may feel tight and swollen after your breast augmentation surgery. Post operative pain medication can be prescribed to reduce discomfort.

Dr. Avram will give you specific return to work and post operative care instructions to follow. For optimal breast augmentation results, be sure to follow your instructions very carefully.
