Tummy Tuck Surgery
Tummy tuck surgery is performed to slim, tighten, and tone your midsection. Your abdominal muscles can be tightened and your loose skin, excess fat and stretch marks can be surgically removed to reveal a beautiful new contour.
Your Initial Consultation With Dr. Avram
At the time of your initial consultation, you will sit down with Dr. Avram to discuss the goals for your tummy tuck surgery. Once all of your questions have been answered, Dr. Avram will assess your midsection to determine the best surgical technique for your tummy tuck based on your desired results and existing anatomy.
The most common incision lines for tummy tuck surgery are located in two areas: 1) around your belly button, and 2) from hip bone to hip bone near your pubic region. Dr. Avram will determine the proper position for your incisions based on your existing anatomy.
An anesthetist will be present during your surgery to administer a general anesthetic. You will be very comfortable and asleep during your tummy tuck surgery. Tummy tuck surgery can take anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours to perform.
Dr. Avram suggests that you take at least 1 to 2 weeks off work for recovery. You will receive specific return to work and post operative care instructions to follow as you heal. For optimal tummy tuck results, be sure to follow your post operative care instructions very carefully.
Tummy tuck surgery is often combined with other cosmetic procedures such as breast implants. If you are interested in getting combination surgery, please let Dr. Avram know during your initial consultation.
