Liposuction

Liposuction is performed to slim, tighten, and improve body contours. Unlike most cosmetic procedures, there is minimal scarring with liposuction and multiple areas can be treated in one procedure.

Your Initial Consultation With Dr. Avram

At the time of your initial consultation, you will sit down with Dr. Avram to discuss the goals for your liposuction procedure. Once all of your questions have been answered, Dr. Avram will assess the areas of concern to determine the best surgical technique based on your desired results and existing anatomy.

Your Incisions

Incision lines for liposuction surgery are only a few millimeters long. Dr. Avram will determine the proper position for your incisions based on the areas being treated and your existing anatomy. Every effort is made to conceal the small incision lines within natural skin folds.

Anesthesia

An anesthetist will be present during your surgery to administer a general anesthetic. You will be very comfortable and asleep during your procedure. Liposuction surgery can take anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours to perform.

Recovery Time

Dr. Avram suggests that you take at least 2 to 3 weeks off work for recovery. You will receive specific return to work and post operative care instructions to follow as you heal. A supportive garment/binder will be supplied as well. For optimal liposuction results, be sure to follow your post operative care instructions very carefully.

Additional Procedures

Liposuction is often combined with other cosmetic procedures such as breast implants. If you are interested in getting combination surgery, please let Dr. Avram know during your initial consultation.
